Vanilla Minecraft's hunger and saturation system is invisible by design. AppleSkin exposes it: held-food tooltips show exact hunger and saturation restored, the HUD shows your saturation reserve as a darker overlay on the hunger bar, and a small numeric indicator displays current values. Tiny mod, near-zero performance cost, ships with virtually every modpack and most performance-focused Fabric setups. It's one of those mods you install once and never uninstall.
