Privacy Policy
The short version
SyntaxMine does not set its own tracking cookies and does not collect personally identifying information. We use one privacy-friendly analytics tool (Umami) that records aggregate page visits: no names, no IPs, no fingerprints. The site may display advertising served by Google AdSense; when it does, Google sets advertising cookies as described in the Advertising section below.
The only situation where data leaves the site is when you choose to click an affiliate link to a hosting provider. From that moment, the provider's own privacy policy applies, not ours.
What we collect
- Aggregate page views via Umami Cloud. No cookies. IP addresses are not stored. The data tells us which articles get read, roughly where readers are (country level), and which browser/OS they use.
- Affiliate link clicks. When you click a tagged hosting link, we record the partner and the campaign tag in our analytics. We do not record who clicked.
- Server logs at our hosting provider (Cloudflare Workers) for security and abuse prevention. Standard request metadata, retained for a short period, never combined with analytics.
What we don't collect
- No tracking pixels of our own. No Facebook Pixel, no Google Analytics, no TikTok pixel. The only third-party cookies that may appear are the advertising cookies described below.
- No personal accounts on the public side of the site, so no profiles or preferences.
- No email addresses (we do not run a newsletter yet: when we do, it will be opt-in only and described here).
- No fingerprinting, no session recording, no heatmaps.
Third parties
Two third parties touch your data when you use SyntaxMine:
- Cloudflare hosts the site. Their privacy and DDoS protection apply to every request. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Umami Cloud processes the aggregate pageview data. See Umami's privacy policy.
Advertising
SyntaxMine may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to show you ads tailored to your interests.

- Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent prompt before any advertising cookies are set, and can decline personalized ads entirely.
Advertising never affects editorial content: guides are written and tested first, and ads have no influence on what we recommend.
Affiliate links
Some hosting links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, your browser is redirected to the partner's site with a tracking parameter that tells them you came from SyntaxMine. The partner's privacy policy takes over from that point.

Your rights
Because we do not store personal data, there is no profile to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions or believe something on the site does collect data we haven't described here, contact us at contact@syntaxmine.com.
Changes to this policy
If we add a newsletter, a contact form, comments, or any other feature that touches user data, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will move forward. Material changes will also be flagged in a site-wide notice.
