How to play Itemdle
Type any Minecraft item and pick it from the list. Itemdle compares it with the item of the day across five clues: category, source, dimension, stack size and the version it was added. Use the colours and arrows to narrow it down.
- Category: Tool, Weapon, Armor, Food, Material, Block, Redstone or Utility.
- Source: how you normally get it first.
- Dimension: where you have to go for it or its ingredients.
- Stack: unstackable, 16 or 64. The arrow points toward the answer.
- Added: the Java version it first appeared in for everyone.

Frequently asked questions
What is Itemdle?
A daily Minecraft guessing game. Every day one item is picked from a pool of 184, the same for everyone. Each guess tells you which traits match.
How do the clues work?
Green means a trait matches, orange means the dimensions partly overlap, red means no match. Arrows on Stack and Added tell you whether the answer stacks higher or lower and was added earlier or later.
What does "Source" mean?
How you normally get the item first: Crafted, Mined, Smelted, Farmed, Mob drop, Found in loot, or Bartered.
What does "Dimension" mean?
The dimensions you need to visit to get the item or its ingredients. A Netherite Sword needs the Overworld and the Nether, an Elytra needs the End.
When does the item change?
Every day at 00:00 UTC. Practice mode gives you random items whenever you like.
Is there a mob version?
Yes: Mobdle is the same idea with Minecraft mobs.
